This reminds me of a post on Making Light by Abi Sutherland, who points out that one failure of contemporary conservatism in its best forms is that it seems to be willfully blind to the idea that as society changes, threats to liberty can come in different shapes than just the government and individual criminals. In particular, there is no coherent conservative response to the tyranny of abusive corporations. One commenter over there writes:

It boggles my mind that people put up with treatment from their employers that would make them scream and run for the nearest gun shop if the government did the same thing.

I'm not sure what to call these folks either, and I'm even less sure how to respond to people who claim to care so much about individual liberties, while seeming so disinterested in confronting the actual threats to those liberties.
