How lovely Greg. I read this article last week, unfortunately at the IS desk in front of the public, because I didn't handle it well. I pretty much agree with all you said, except the part about YA literature including the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, but that is an argument for another day. One thing I did find fascinating about the article is that she attributed much of the downward spiral, in her opinion, to The Outsiders. I mostly contribute getting-teens-to-enjoy-reading to The Outsiders, so it makes since that it was a genre bender as well. God I am sick of how stupid, close-minded people have some of the loudest voices, Al Sharpton excluded of course.
